Roy, let's open in prayer.

My dear heavenly father. We thank you. You rejoice in the opportunity to be able to come in to gaze into the person of your son, to see the work that he has accomplished on our behalf to think of his character of his purpose.

We thank you for the grace provision that you'd given us in and through our Lord Jesus Christ. the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundations of the year we are told God is he was ready. He was committed in the billable for this entire Sim debacle to be taken care of and he took care of it. And then some and so we thank you, certainly father. We thank you for this morning as we gaze into your word. We asked if we would find ourselves change, conformed and encouraged Whatever we might have need of whether it be supporting. Directing encouraging. Lord, rebuking whatever you have in mind. We ask that your scripture, your word would fulfill that purpose, that your sheep may be well, groomed and taken care of. We thank you for your provision. We understand that we need to be walking in the filling of your spirit. But we might be able to have your resources to understand the word of God, not ours, but yours. And so, we take the moment for confession of any known sin, we might be able to walk in Fellowship in the flooring of your spirit is Manor into this time.

With all my heart, I have sought thee, do not. Let me Wander from my Commandments. How can a young man? Keep his way pure by keeping it according to Thy Word, By word, I have treasured in my heart that I might not sin against thee. So dearly father, we thank you for this time. We dedicate it to you. We praise you and we worship you, blessed. Be the name of your lord of our Lord and savior your son. Jesus Christ. Amen.

All right.

Last week, we noted.

Go. Before I do that, let me go here.

so, what I speak to the academic shower and just studying the word of God, and the church setting, Studying God's word is the most serious thing you do during the week, whether you realize it or not. And some people approach this time with the attitude of academic discipline and focus others, haven't learned what that is yet until we extend Grace and we encourage them and point them to do an inside of that. This attitude has been encouraged and instructed from the pulpit and is part of the rigor of the discipline of the study of God's word, we have reviewed the scriptural, precedents and reasons. And of establish, the gods model for instruction, is an authoritative 1, wherein he is the authority, and the study of his word is entered into through the Teaching Ministry of the pastor who has to speak and teach with authority. For example, Titus 2:15, wearied speak, these things. Paul is admonishing Titus as to how to proceed as if I speak these things. What you have learned the readings, the teachings, exhort and rebuke with all authority, lets no one despise you. And other words don't buckle into anyone else's Authority. Telling you how things are with the doctrine is how things are supposed to go. Instead, be aware of what scripture has to say. That's a good good inside their notice. It says speak. Now, these things that is give insight into the scripture, teach the scripture, read the scripture, make scripture, the core of the curriculum and nothing else, and then, he says, tosses them, this little word exhort And exhort means a few things. It means to encourage one another. To actually, when you find exhort or encourage it is typically the same Greek word that we find there. To it means to encourage, but it can mean encourage in a number of ways. There were a number of times and my parents encouraged me. Do do the right thing when I haven't been doing the right thing and so they pulled out the paddle of encouragement and deployed into the seed of learning that I might be able to move forward. Sometimes encouragement means we are speaking. Praise for accomplishments. Do you got an A on the test? That is a good thing. We like A's in this household. Will reward you for doing good working for following through and developing the character and discipline that's needed. Unfortunately I didn't need character and discipline to get a raise. I just walked in and always did so they had to teach me character and discipline another way. So,

And then rebuke with all the authority. So these things are just part of the process of teaching. I was talking last night with a bob Bollinger down in Austin, Bible Church.

Speaking about a few things that we're going to be teaching, and then it always happens with pastors. We talked about the process of caring for Sheet which is primarily teaching But I did admit to him. There are times when I pull the car over and I preach for a few minutes and that could be another way of understanding exhortation where you going to get a little bit not preachy, not trying to be preachy, but just a little bit excited, a little bit flavored by the text, there is just this thing that happens when you immerse something and something else there is an absorption. When I put a towel down on spill coffee, it absorbs the coffee. When I put my towel down on the wet floor because my shower overspray and I made a big mess, didn't get the door shut or something. Then I put the tile down and absorbs the water. The other day I was working on something and I put a little paper towel in a little small container of white vinegar that I was using to soak a little piece of metal in to get all the rust off using the acid to can a take away the rust. In soy to help clean it. At one point, I picked up the paper towels soaked it in the vinegar. So the paper towel was vinegary.

I sometimes had the perspective of certain individuals.

Have been soaked in vinegar or soaked in lemonade and you know, they may have a Sweet Disposition or they may have a tart and sour disposition in life. It's been sad better. When everything smells like Limburger to you and might be that you got a little Limburger and your mustache. We have a tendency to take you and what we are spending time with. And so to house were studying and preparing the text, we tend to soak it up and so there can be those times when we get a little bit excited or we want we want to reflect the flavor of what's there in the tax of what's being taught. No. Also we have a second Timothy 4:2. We're Timothy has been told to preach the word.

Really, that means to Proclaim. To teach it.

To make know that what you understand about God's word, he says be ready in season and out of season, convince rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching that means be patient. You're going to have to do it again and again and again and keep saying the same things. That is the process of Chi-Chi. You inculcate knowledge through repetition, we repeat it and we repeat it and we repeat it. We keep on coming back this, how I change happens, that is how things are absorbed.

No, I know. It is hard to keep up.

At times with the material that is presented in here and I know that the material is not always clear to all of you as it's being presented. No, sometimes that's just me because as they say, a little bit of mist in the mind of the speaker can create a great fog in the ears of the listeners. And so sometimes I'm a little bit Misty, and Not careful about what I say. If she's bought fills the room and I can usually tell him because sudden I get a bunch of blank looks back and leg.

Exactly. So you don't think so. If it does happen,

so high, I appreciate But in this small Church, there is Liberty to enter Jack or to raise a hand and ask a question, which is good. If you do have a question, then someone else probably does too, so thank you for being the one to ask it. We just ask that you exhibited good manners and a little bit of a concern for everyone else around you at the same time. You suspect, you are not following the teaching because you have missed material. Then feel free to ask me after service or email me or contact me whatever. However, what works best for you and I can try to get that teaching material. To you by God's grace, we do have recordings of all the teachings that I have made from this Pulpit going back, several years. So everything that I've taught for some strange reason. I just started recording it and suddenly it's all there. So we have a few years of the material then get your hands on.

More recently. We? Her teaching available with audio and slides that is available so you can listen and watch the slides from your device. As I'm talking you can see the new sloth go across whether a phone or an iPod iPad, a computer or laptop and we are going to work on the way to distribute these teachings and make them available to the congregation. And eventually we will have a website and a space for congregational business and interaction the public facing information, and then we'll have the private information where we can get to our own stuff.

Now, that's an example of what I was talking about.

Here is the URL.

To get to the teaching from last week. So last week, if you type this in So basically at sermons. Faithlife.com and then we say, wack in the computer business that means you're backslash wack sermons. Wack 96 2936, hyphen there for hyphen, we hyphen also hyphen part, hyphen to, and then for some strange reason, there's another hyphen and 3.... You have to have all of that. But if you put it in, put it in your computer, you will be up to and you'll be able to take you in from any browser, the teaching from last week.

No, not yet. Not yet. We don't have your a homepage. We can go to where then you can see all the different items. So at the moment, they're available as one off so we can send you the links for each lesson as it goes out. What we could do is I could just have an email and at the end of Once, it's compiled just sent a link out there, one on email, who wants it? When get to eventually it will be like what you're saying. We can just go to a URL and then you'll be able to see all the teachers that are there.

Kind of but we're in the same pool with 10,000 other churches that are out there doing the same thing. Yeah, so if you just stop at sermons, then you're going to, you're going to get just a great big pool of all the teachings from everyone that's out there. Okay? So you want you want to use all the numbers and everything to get to the right to the right place. And then once you're there, there's ways to be able to see more what's going on, but it isn't real organized right now. So when are you type that into your

Browser. It brings you If that's going to work.

So this is what it actually looks like in a web page. I just thought I'd show you. She had a point of visual reference.

girl, and if you click on the play button and expand out the screen, you get this where you can control

the play of the teaching, you can see we have the play button right here. So you put on volume control, play bars, whatever. Something interesting. It's a little bit dim here but we actually have the entire transcript calculated again for the teaching. So if you're having a hard time following, if the audio was hard to make out the transcript is here now it's not perfect. Captions. Yeah.

It's there the way I have it set up and just automatically generates captions. Yeah. So you don't have to do any CC thing or anything like that and so I do need these gone through and I'm probably going to recruit someone like Linda Young to go through, who is impeccably detail-oriented and she will go through and make all the transcripts actually match cuz we can go in and edit those. Cuz there are places where I say, dear heavenly father and it says, I don't know what it comes up with it just completely baffled with how I get some of the words that it does. But it must be my Southern Oregon accent, that makes it difficult. Leonardo Mario moves forward, the slides change as you go. So you can see the very slide that were talking about. So I think that's that's helpful. Some people are driving their car and all they are able to do is to listen to the audio. That's fine. For people who have the time to be able to be visually and audio engaged. At the same time, you can do this here. This way, the nice thing. Also, about listening to the recordings, as you can speed it up. So it one of my favorite things to do, there are very few people out there who aren't fast enough for me. My name is speed reader and I'm very much a speed listener. So, I turn everyone. I listen to every podcast, everything, with very rare exceptions, I haven't turned out the two two and a quarter times normal speaking speed. I've got special software that will actually flip out all the pause is over. Brakes and everything and just make it go back and that's great for me. So but you can do whatever you want when you're here. So you do have options. Also, I want to mention that our box account is open to public access by using the link the Box account is where all the audio files are. They cannot be browsed to from inside a box or found in a search from the internet in part because those files as well. May need some minor attention editing and transcription work to make use of them better. So I haven't put it all out into the public domain yet. I'm here is what that link looks like. Getting all those letters, copy down correctly. Might be a little bit of a task. It's actually all lowercase letters and the numbers, so even though it's alphanumeric, it's not terrible.

You got it, David.

So why. Anyways, but if anyone wants to link too bad, if you don't have it already, just let me know. I might have posted it a few times in the women's prayer group messenger. I'm your little chat place, so I put it there a couple of times. So people have a reminder, they can grab it again, but if you want it just let me know, email it to you or text you so you can get it in all of the past. That is out. There can be grab, that's all in audio. Only 5 Audio Only format so no slides or anything with that.

. I'm moving forward last week when I started out to say we brought up some vocabulary that some of you were not used to and I want to review that to make sure that I were on a even Level Playing Field. I don't like the feel like I'm rolling Boulders down hill that you have to dodge, get out of the way, you know, just to keep on taking in the sermon. So let's make sure we're on the same page and terms of some of this vocabulary. Some of you may have learned Miss in college. If you'd gone to law school or you've been involved in philosophy, I'm or other. Tracks like that than you are aware of these things. I would think any English literature. Major problem is taking it in any one, who's engaged in the study of the classics. That is classic part. Going back through the Greeks and the Romans etcetera. You you've been exposed to this. So that what we found is that there are three Latin terms that are used in argumentation and logic and then flossophy, which is concerned with understanding. What is what that's my definition of philosophy. What is what that starts with w and he's all about. So then you get to pick you up buckets and then get out your shovel in the scoop up the wet and put it in the cat. Sounds like working in a barnyard, doesn't it?

Might be reason for that are phrases as though he were studying work. A priori All for your rim and there's another term a posteriori. A priori, a posteriori and a fortiori and these are three common words that are used in logic or phrase as I should say. So I'm going to talk through these. I have a couple of points here lined up. So you see that a priori is literally from the earlier. That's what the Latin means from what precedes from what came before or from the earlier. And it is speaking of something that is knowable

something that is understood. So if I have a priori information, it means that it is knowable. You can know it is something but it was defined and this can be understood or known without any evidence being brought into the argument. So we know these things based on logic When we put it into an expression, we put it into a syllogism. Or if you want to think of it as an equation, we say, if the earlier statement is true, then the latter statement is obviously true. So, what's the first thing is true? Then We can say, we know, etcetera were able to come to a conclusion, based on knowledge or facts that are already there.

Look up the earlier statement is true. Then the ladder is obviously true. For example, if I say it's John was at church from 9 to 12:15 or using our schedule from 9:30 to 12:15. Then John was at church at 11 to accept the first premise, which were agreeing is true. John was at church between 9:30 and 12:15. So then we can all agree that John was at church at 11, right? Because we know the first is true then we can ascertain that the second is true

so, we have some

examples.

1st Corinthians chapter 15. We'll work our way down to verses 12 through 19 know if Christ is preached that he has been raised from the dead.

And here we put in advance. And then how do you some of mine? You say that there is no Resurrection from the dead. So we know what's true. So how can you be saying what you're saying? This is a priori logic. I have a basis. I know something there for, I can come to a conclusion. Now in our example, 9:30 to 12:15 in church, so he's in church at 11 but if I say 9:30 to 12:15 but 2 p.m. so he's not in church at 2 p.m. or we don't know. We only know that he's in church between 9:30 and 12:15. What they're singing in this verse is that Christ has been raised from the dead so why are some of my own you saying there's no Resurrection from the dead Christ was resurrected. You're being foolish. You're not making sense. Christ is an example. He was resurrected from the dead. How can you say? There is no, Resurrection verse 13, but if there is no resurrection of the dead or a priori information, we agree on this. If there's no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. So we take logic, can we apply at the first at the truth? Therefore, we know the second can't be true. And the illustration that Paul is bringing here when under verse 14. And if Christ is not risen, that's why I agreed. Upon fact, then our preaching is empty and our faith is empty. We have no value and what were proclaiming, we have no value and what we believe because it can't be worthwhile if Christ has not risen verse 15 us and we are found false Witnesses of God because we have testified of God. That he raised up Christ whom according to this, thinking you did not raise up. If in fact the dead do not rise. You see how this is going one step at a time. We're taking logic were agreeing on an assumption and based on that. Assumption, we can come to a conclusion.

First 16 for if the dead do not rise or agreement then Christ is not risen verse 17 and Christ is not risen. What we agree to your faith is futile. You are still in your sins. You have not been delivered from Sand. He is saying verse 17, then Verse 18, then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished so he's carrying on. But then conclusion, if Christ has not risen, if he has not been resurrected then all who have died in Christ have perished, they have been going on to life. They have perished, I'm in verse 19 in this life. Only we have hope in Christ.

Then we are of all men, the most pitiable. Now he is using Harper Yuri here and every one of these versus every single statement here is based on the one that preceded it, the one that came before the are priori so it is based on an established assumption. A known point of Truth or something. We are agreeing to, as the point of argument to take the argument forward to an osprey or a understanding means that we agree and we know therefore we can make a conclusion. So that's what all priori means. So, last week, I was talking to blithely on about our priori and most Don't know if everyone but almost no one in the room. Had a clue. What I was talking about because I just assumed that everyone knows what I'll priori is because that's my dumb brain and I apologize. So now we've gone through what that means. But now let's look at All post Yuri.

Oops.

That was why I said okay I'll post you worried so back to her screen but is comparing the three, the second line. Now we see a posteriori, which means from the ladder. So the first type of logic means based on the premise, we know what the premise is, we agree to it. I post Theory means we are agreed on the latter know this might take just a second longer to connect with what's going on, but what it means is, we have to investigate and we don't know what the conclusion is. We don't have an agreed-upon basis to come to a conclusion. So the first concept we look at our priori meant. We can agree and we all agree. The assumption is everything is being dealt with is our priority. That is we have a Hey sis. We have a president with a reason we have agreed upon waha roll working from the same books. The entire process of working law is off a priori until you get to the witness stand. And once you get to the witness stand, you are working in the realm of a priori. But suddenly you are dealing with the opto stereorey situation that is Turn the depends on what the results are that are to be found.

Posteriore, this can be understood or known by looking at evidence. So we pull out the evidence and it may be true or maybe fall. So we must investigate further to know, or based on empirical truth or experienced. The conclusion can be made so evidence Experience. Empirical investigative truth. Those are reasons that we utilize a posteriori type of argument because we have evidence to put into the conversation.

So, here's an example.

If a man can hold his breath 33 minutes, we'll use David is our example here. If David can hold his breath for 3 minutes. 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Right. that's all posteriori, because We need to find out if he can, we don't know, but he can right. Let's not assume that he can hold his breath for three minutes. We can't assume that. That's unlike. Most people can only hold their breath about 50 seconds, right? Yes.

Right. Yeah, the premise relies on evidence or relies on experience, or relies on some empirical investigation.

We the first one we know that it's true or for sake of argument, we all agree that is true so we can carry the argument forward. In this case, we don't know there's an investigation. So, to move forward with this argument, we have to have David go. And see how long you can hold his breath. So that's how we move forward. Yes.

Yes.

Ponyo.

Then do another one. I don't want to confuse you with that because that Paradigm doesn't stay true. So you can use all the conditional classes within our priori and you can use all of the conditional license with a posteriori cuz it depends on how the evidence comes in. If it's true, if it's not true, if it's true, we assume it to be true. We can still use the Apple, we can still be wrong. I'm so typically in Greek, you're going to say a first-class conditional unless you are someone who grew up with David. You knew these world-class diver and oyster retriever you know, I do know that while you're sitting in the pub, making this bet. Oh, I bet he can hold his breath for 2 minutes and 45 seconds cuz you already know we can do it for 3 minutes, your then, Making a bat. A wager witches are posteriori for everyone else cuz they don't have the evidence. You've already got the evidence, so, you know, You're betting on a sure thing and yeah cuz you already know how it's going to work out. So now we have examples of this with scripture so we see you in 1st Corinthians 15:20. 1st Corinthians 15 verse 20 but now Christ is risen from the dead and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. So, How old is making an argument here? It is a argument based on evidence, he's introducing evidence, the whenever you introduce evidence, then you're going to use an odd posteriore argument, which is what he's doing. He's saying Christ is risen from the dead. Because he's risen from the dead. And we have the evidence that this is true. He has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. He is the very first to be resurrected from the dead, but is to New Life to Supernatural life to eternal life, to a glorified body. No other has preceded him in that. Others have been restored to normal, human life. No one else has been resurrected to a supernatural life with a supernatural body. He is the first we know Christ is risen from the dead. Because we have the evidence. So this is an odd posteriori argument. So, when we are dealing with people who don't know, the gospel, we are actually bringing evidence to the table. Because if you walk up to someone who does not know the gospel, who doesn't understand the background behind Christ and his resurrection, and you try to have a priori conversation with them, it won't work. They cannot assume to be true that which you have assumed to be true. So you will always engage them in an awful stereorey argument because you're going to give them evidence, you're going to cite evidence, you may not be able to go very detailed in it or you may you may be able to reference all of the hundreds who saw him in person of the different two, extra biblical, text that certify. Speak to this person who rose from the dead. You might be able to do that in interviews that and evidence. But whatever you do, it will be based on evidence just like when you go into a courtroom you cannot assume anything from anyone. Everything is off posteriore, it is entered into evidence. I made you look at it and you agree. Is a valid or is it invalid evidence?

We also have Luke chapter 1, Luke chapter 1 verses 1 through 4 where we read in as much as many have taken in hand to set in order and narrative. This is Luke beginning, his account of the gospel and narratives of those things which have been fulfilled Among Us. Fulfilled that means, it has come to pass. It is come true verse to Justice, those who from the beginning where I Witnesses and Ministers of the word delivered them to us for 3, it seemed good to us. Also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first to write you an orderly account. Most excellent Theophilus. Worst for that. You may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed. So what are these four verses about? They're all about evidence. They're all talking about a posteriori reasoning. Rationals thinking argumentation,

Or we can look at 1st, John. Chapter 1, verses 1 through 4. This is a, we'll both our new Concepts, but I'm assuming that all posteriore as a word. It's probably one you haven't heard. It's even less likely to have been heard them off posteriori. The funny thing is the rarest of the three terms off fortiori, who's actually the least likely that any other person in the population of United States that you were speaking population would know. But that's the one that, you know, because you've been taught it over and over and over again. But these far more common terms, you haven't been taught and so we're kind of making sure you're back in the loop on that. So if I slip and I toss out the term that you're not familiar with just off-the-cuff, then you know what it is and I'm talking about. So that's part of why we're going through this first, John wearied 1:1 that, which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which way, You have seen with our eyes which we have looked upon and our hands have handled concerning the Word of Life. Gosh, that's a bunch of evidence, isn't it? Handled. Brewstew. The life was manifested. That is he appeared? He was here. And we have seen either, we bear witness and we declare to you that eternal life, which was with the father and was manifested to us bearing, witness testifying. That's all a posteriori reasoning logic and thinking this is actually a very important part of our vocabulary to understand what's going on. This is amazing thing. When you learn a vocabulary word, when you learn a concept, it empowers you to think even more to comprehend even more. So now as we go back through most of the Gospel, many of the pistols, you can break it up. What is actually off? Posterior, what does aw priori what is assumed to be true? Therefore, were making a logical conclusion from it and what is based on evidence from which we can make a conclusion and draw the conversation forward. So you may not have ever thought of it this way but now you can go and Entire New Testament, just with the purpose of putting little letters.

AP.

Well.

Not going to work that way. Anyways, you can put whatever initials you find out work for you and write it down. But you can tell her that what you is a priori and that which is awful stereorey and that you can go. And so you can understand the reasoning to the flow, the logic and it actually gives you a better ability to grasp and follow the flow of the conversation. And really, it works ninety-plus percent of the time, there's only a few places, a few things were the Greek is actually changing the meaning so things are a little bit different but you can almost always eyeball it and say what type of a logical argument is it that's very helpful. It's very good for you to have that cognitive awareness as you go through the picking up in 43. He says that which we have seen and heard we declare to you. That you may also have fellowship with us. So he's building his logic is saying we've seen it, we've heard it therefore we declare it so we can witness to it. Therefore we declare it and we declare it. So have him declared it to you. You can have fellowship with us. We provide our witness. So you stand in the same basis that we stand. We have a relationship with God based on these facts that we witnessed, but because we witnessed and told you you to get to stand on these facts as well. Jesus Christ people alive, he has risen. The stone has been rolled Did happen. And he was dead. He was buried. And he was resurrected. When the stone was rolled. He was not in there because he had been resurrected true things, the basis of your faith, the basis of your belief, the basis of your spiritual life or All crew. So, this is very important reasoning for us to grasp first floor, and these things. We write to you, that your joy may be full, because let me ask you this, what Joy would you have if you read that, the stone was rolled and his corpse was in there. All wrapped up. There is no joy there. But based on the fact, the stone was rolled and he is risen as he said.

Then you have joy. You have insurance, you have rest because, you know, your faith is based on something real. So there is that then sandwich. The op posterior are we argument is in ways, more powerful than the, a priori argument. Know, the author priori argument as the basis for all thinking were all truth. We can't move forward with fought without a priori thinking. Let me tell you something that's happening right now. It's been happening for a while. We have this little thing going on all around us and you can see it cuz you turn on the TV as like someone spit in your face. As soon as you turn on the TV, where we have this post-modernism.

Which is basically saying, there is no such thing is off or you're rethinking. You can't draw conclusion because we can't agree to the truth. There is no agreed-upon statement. Therefore we can't move to the next level or they're saying agreed-upon statement is not the one that you won't agree on. We got a different agreed-upon statements. Therefore we're making our conclusion and you come back and say no I'm not agreeing with your conclusion for example.

You're naughty menstrating person, you're not 8. Able to give birth person or a person with a womb you're a woman. You are a man or your woman, they're not 45 different Sexes. There are two that God has created. There are yes a few people out there who have some genetic anomalies in which case, they have attributes of both sexes, because their biology has been messed up by sin, the curse of C

But that does not mean that there are categories of male and female and 25 in between versions that you can just claim that you are, you don't get to claim truth. Truth is so, post-modernism is coming in and what is it attacking a posteriori? It's attacking.

What was the first priority is being attacked? And the witness? The empirical evidence of Truth is being attacked. That's what post-modernism is all about. It's getting rid of any ability to rationally argue through something else. Someone is sitting there and they're able to redact. What just happened me neither able to say you're trying to inject post-modernism thinking into the conversation, which I reject. I don't agree with your post-modernism basis for saying that they kind of pull the plug on the argument. But unfortunately I haven't seen any Senators cuz that's where we typically see this topic. Haven't seen any Senators come up with that kind of argument or language, unfortunately, because what that means is, we are submitting to the postmodern milieu, once you call it out, and Name it and you say you're trying to use puddle, utilize post modern modernism and I don't agree, you're wrong. Post-modernism is not the basis for truth. Then you have taken their Authority and their power away from them. That's important for us to do. So that's why we want to know what these things are. You want to know what the a priori thinking an argument, is because it gives us the ability, then to be in control of a situation and arguments, we had the ability to understand what people are doing, is they're trying to destroy that type of thinking.

Yes.

Right. Truth is real and I think that it's necessary for us to call, I like the little a prism, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck to water was like a duck, it's probably a duck or a person impersonating platypus. But

That's a different story. Again, back to our board. So we have a priori, which we discussed we have the Oppo stereorey, which we discussed. Are we above fortiori? What you guys are much more will acquainted with and off 40 or 8 mi from the greater. So from the preceding from the following and now, from the greater his, an argument from the position of the greater. Now, if something is the greater, Then there is something that is the Lesser, and this is merely a priori logic with a specific condition, put into the mix. If the greater bigger or more difficult proposition is true, then the Lesser easier. Less difficult proposition is true as well. A fortiori is pure logic. Just like our priority is pure logic or all posteriori is pure logic but it is logic of comparison. So in the other cases, we are necessarily using comparison, you're making a point and then logic depends on that point and then making a point and Logic the depends on that point with all fortiori, we have a comparison. So it's like with our priori. With all posteriori, you have an equation with two sides and an equal sign in the middle, okay? With a fortiori like you have a question with two sides and a greater than sign or less than sign in the middle. This statement is a lesser issue. Then this statement, this is less difficult or it smaller or it's easier. This is more difficult or it's bigger or it's harder. So we had to compare, Person in between the two sides to allow us to come to a conclusion. So logic of comparison. So for example, if or example in the room is David did to my 250 lb deadlift weight, then that means he can lift 150 lb, right?

Logically. Yes, so if you can do the greater, he can do the lesser. So now we're looking at the point of comparison. Now, I probably shouldn't have used a point of comparison in my aunt posteriore, but I showed you multiple examples through the biblical texts that just show evidence. He is risen as you said there for evidence and we can move forward. So we have an equal sign there. When this case we have a less than or greater than sign the greater, the greater thing has been done for men can lift 250 or 350 lb or 450 lb. Would you start getting into upper class athletes? Then by comparison. They can do the lesser thing. so we have some examples, I'll just pull out one because, you know, this already from Matthew Chapter 7, Verse 11, if you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father who is in heaven? Give good things to those who ask him. It's comparison of Good vs Evil. You see, we are sinful. We have problems if we need being simple, having problems, can you give good gifts to her children? Then how much more will our heavenly father? Give good gifts to those who ask him. We should have no fear of coming to the Lord in prayer, if we do it. Just shows that we are negligent of the truth, but he is greater that he is more willing to respond but he has no evil in him that he has no sin basis. Therefore, he is always receptive to your prayers. Now you may understand, you need the exact opposite of what you're asking for it because he knows you and he loves you and he cares for you, but he is always receptive. Always listening, always prepared to do the good thing about which is best for you to bring your prayers to God, is far better than bringing your prayers if you will, to your father to your grandfather, know, grandparents are pretty close to God, that is they do some amazing things for the grandkids and the grandkids know it. That's just the way life is sometimes. Something to be done. That is over-the-top. I remember my niece Sarah's first Christmas. She was born on December 26th the day after Christmas. So a year rolls on and we get to Christmas Day. 364 days later after she was born.

we have Christmas, and I remember, Oh, I don't know what to do. But I was working down at Harry and David at the time and then I saw it. I went into the Country Village, they're great big store, they have down. There has been working on this whole concept of bears. And so they had little bears, little Huggy Bears they were doing their campaigns and so they were selling Goods with bears and bears was a thing. Everything, you know, they had Bears on labels and bears on this and then everything was it was unbearable. Erin. Then I saw it hanging from the ceiling. Bigger-than-life, it was a huge six-foot-tall while sitting down joy and stuffed bear was not quite. So maybe about 4 ft sitting down and it was a, it was a giant, adorable, lovely. Very high-quality bear and the price was astronomical, but they had it on sale for like 80% off and then I got my employee discount on top of that. So, it was achievable. I got it and I bought the bear. I couldn't find anything to wrap it in or as I gifted with the rapping skills, a little out, someone to take something other than having a refrigerator box, I couldn't come up with anything so I took it and I stuffed it into a trash. Zach. Time it off when I took the trash Zack and I attached a bunch of wrapping paper to it. So it's fine. It's Christmas. We did the whole Christmas thing. We told the Christmas story, we talked about price and we went to open presents and the biggest present there was in the way. So we needed to deal with that and I we got around. We'd opened a couple of presents to Sarah at this point. Already knew what was happening. We got to take off the wrapping paper and get whatever was inside and she knew at a year old, as she was getting things that were hers. And so my brother says okay, let's open this big one and there she is. She's about that but you just really little little girl, you know, you're old. And she's sitting there on his lap and my brother reaches down and he pulled apart some of the paper, it rips apart the trash bag in the head of this giant bear pops out I'm still radulov off of my brother's lap, grab that bear and hung on to it. She knew it was hers. She still has it to this day. She's gotten rid of everything, but she will not get rid of the Big Bear just got married. So I'm not sure, I think the bear is still there, massive, big bear. I used to come over to their house, there was set up over the corner and she would go crawling around going around doing things and she crawled over and she snuggle up against the bear, my brother and sister-in-law. So they always came in and they found her just snuggled up in the bear. It was her, it was her love toy and so If I as an uncle can give a gift like that, that has that kind of connection. We'll just imagine what grandparents can do, who are close to God. And then imagine even more. What I can do there is Play examples a little bit cute and Ludacris but I'm just giving you a comparison that if my example is the far lesser example than imagine how God is the far. Greater example. Wow.

Okay.

And now we're on tour review of last week.

Couple things to be over here. Have we picked up our teaching from last week and Hebrews chapter 12, verses 1 through 3. We looked at the first phrase is a couple of weeks ago, the very first word Hello. I'm in Hebrews 12:1 the therefore in a uses in in antecedent intensive particles pulled groin which is not a simple, wherefore are there for but it carries a much much stronger inference and we translated this into conclusion with wear for their for conclusion. As for this very reason therefore we had to add a few words on the kind of get the import. The power of what this word is, it is being used. Turns out, this word is actually only used at 8. You interested in the New Testament because it's an intensive typically, the normal regular smaller therefore or wherefore gets the moment just perfectly, moving through the story line or the logic line, but this isn't just a simple thing. This is a big tell, a Big Rich. A big thing is happening here. Therefore the writer of Hebrews, chapter 12, pulls out. The biggest word that he can. So now, let's look at a couple other places where this word is used. It is toy Quran.

yeah, it's I the play with a few languages in my life and sometimes I get in the Greek and I look at it and I try to pronounce it like Italian or I try to pronounce it, like it's Latin for, you know, sometimes my head just gets wrapped around and can't figure it out. So I was having a hard time pronouncing it myself, but it's just toy garron, or even talk to run, is how it's pronounced. So, the ball's, in this case are elided, they are drawn together and we don't have a

Excuse me. What do you call it? When you change the valves and pronounce them all the

What? no, I just mean that in your, in your valves when you're When you're pronouncing them and never mind. What does 1st Thessalonians 4:7 for God. Did not call us to uncleanness but in Holiness verse 8 therefore and here's our word he who rejects this does not reject man but God who has also given us his holy spirit. So 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 is 10 of a serious subject here and it's talking about the

basically, the whole we missed the sexual purity of the Christian So he's explaining to the Thessalonians that they are not to be involved in wife swapping or immorality or anything involving sex outside of marriage. A man to have a productive life that is work. If you have so much time available to you, but you can get involved in these things then work. How about wife do things that are productive instead but it goes on and he makes this distinction

That you aspire to lead a quiet life to mind your own business and to work with your own hands as we commanded in order that you may walk properly toward those who are outside that, you may lack nothing. So that's what he comes to later, previously. Insane. God didn't call us to and clean this, but to hold he missed a holy life. Therefore he who rejects this teaching of a. Holy life is not rejecting man, or the teaching of, man, you are rejecting. God is what he says, it's a strong argument. So he pulls out the big there for the big wear for. It's not about rejecting man's ways, that's how everyone from the 60's and 70's proceeded. We're not into doing things, the way parents used to do it. We've got our cooler War insightful, way of doing things. We're rejecting man's ways or moving forward with love and peace. Love, and peace psychedelics. What that meant was sex and drugs and immorality, but what all is Towing us here. You are not rejecting man's ways, you're rejecting God himself.

Why engaging in this Unholy Act?

He says has also given us his holy spirit. That's really the Clincher is that. We have the Holy Spirit living within us needing us, and guiding us. So there is absolutely no excuse for that activity or Behavior. Now, in chapter 6, if anyone has fallen and trespasses or sit-in you who are spiritual restore that brother commandment Not optional, not a choice. That is a someone has fallen. Then restore them. Restoration means Grace and means forgiveness. Do we have an issue here? Because we have all these people who were molested and they had to go through difficult times in life until they've been taught. You do not forgive the person. Do not release them from accountability. Will we understand the logic in that? But, unfortunately, there is man's way, which leads to destruction, which is based on sinful used in a lack of understanding of sin in the same nature, when we have God's way, which is based on spiritual truth, the fact that Jesus Christ took care of all sin of all mankind, there for you, who are Christians, have no option. But to forgive

Since you're calling and not forgive restore.

Bring back to fellowship. Bring back to relationship that stuff. That's a tough one. We don't like that. You know what? We just don't get along with that type of thinking. Unfortunately, this is a Grace mentality. This is what it means to be a Christian, this follows after the fruit of the spirit. The very next thing after the fruit of the spirit of a list of the fruit of the flash, he says, if anyone Falls you who are spiritual restore, now, this is line of delineation. Really those who don't restore or not spiritual.

I'm not talking about spiritual status here. That's a spiritual person over there or hanging around with him already. Spiritual maturity, you who are mature, you who are walking in fellowship with God. The Holy Spirit, you will be doing this. This is your calling. This is your job. If you're not sure, if you are a super Grace believe you're if you're headed towards The High Ground, if you are hanging on to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ Creek, clinging to him with all of your life and you are in a point of maturity, you will do this. If you don't, you're not who you thought you were, you aren't mature.

Sure, that simple.

So, but we have in the text here, it's a big, therefore, understand. This is a big conclusion. God is involved. That's why there's a big conclusion. We have another text.

No, we don't.

We'll pick this up when we come back from the break and we will take a look at Luke chapter 24 of it, helps us as well Lynhurst. And this big transition this big conclusion and why Paul is pulling out this Great big word to make his point. So, let's close up regularly father we thank you for the joy of investigating your truth, your word, pray that as we continue on that, we would find encouragement from you and difficult, things have been said, But we trust in the faithfulness of your spirit to guide the need to show on to instruct to cause us to understand your thinking and live according to your grace provision. But we might have a supernatural life, not the life that any unbeliever going to have but a supernatural life based on your work based on Grace. We take the time of break and asked that we might abide in your pleasure and maybe some good munchies and precious baby frame.

All right, time for Dee's. Favorite moment of the year.

Roy. Let's go a One More Time. Lord, You Are Holy. Father, we thank you again for the joy that we have of studying your word. Pray that we would grow the, we would benefit that we would find ourselves equipped more to live this life of spirituality by Grace. We have a supernatural Life to Live. Not a mundane one, not one that can be accomplished by any, but those were born again and this we do Reliance upon at your work, your provision, your empowerment. We can't make it happen. It is your grace to provide the means. We just walk in it and we are thankful, We Praise You In This Time. In Christ's name.

So we're picking back up where we left off. We were looking at a couple of examples.

And we're looking at the use of the word, toggle run. Which is.

Translated by us. We've arrived at the translation for this very reason they're for Because one English word, therefore just doesn't get the concept across. We need a little bit more for us to get what's happening here. We're not sticking to the one word, for one word, translation model. We're sticking to the let's get the concept across the whole concept of nothing but the whole concept.

So we're looking at Luke Chapter 3:21 20, And we're setting the stage here. Luke 21:19 in the chief priests and the scribes that very our thought to lay hands on him. But they feared the people for they knew that he had spoken this Parable against them, he had Just said, horrible things in a parable and they hated him for it first 20. So they watched him and sent spies who pretended to be righteous. But they might see. He's on his words in order to deliver him to the power and the authority of the governor. Where's 21? And then may, I asked him, same teacher, we know that you say and teach rightly and you do not show personal favoritism, but teach the way of God in truth, they said with her sakran Smiles on their face overly sweet and sanctimonious cuz they were lying. First 22. Is it lawful for us? Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay taxes to Caesar? Do they think that they have Christ between the heart of rock and a hard place? They think they have him in a vice where no matter what he says, he will be destroyed because they have the perfect question. Damned if he says one thing, damned if he says the other than this case, if he says pay taxes, when all the people who hate him, because taxes were a form of evil that was perpetuated apartment. You see there, were the taxes that were familiar with that is a taxes from being the people of God. Okay, so we have the taxes that are paid to the temple. We have the taxes that are paid to keep the nation. Moving forward, we have the taxes that are paid to help the poor and to help those who have do means the society is designed to take care of its own is actually designed to be a Theocratic system in which God governs and rules in the people as they exercised righteousness. We could say, then all things will be provided for. But on top of this, there is another form of Taxation because you see, it is not a Theocratic Kingdom at this point. God is not in charge. There is no King under God sitting on the throne. There is Rome, the Imperial Rome, the Empire over all of the middle region of the earth, there, everything around the Mediterranean in this vast, vast area, and they were under the Keel as it is called of room. That is it any moments of Rome decided it could put them into them, destroy them as a country and a people. And so, they were required out of self-preservation to pay the taxes that came along as well. They were

Dealing with those were in their midst. Because Rome had this. Brilliant, brilliant way of putting faxes on the individuals. They would give the job to people who came from their mist. They would fine Jews who were living in Israel living in Jerusalem. Who knew everyone who knew the system, who knew what was going on monetarily, they knew who had money, they knew who didn't, and they were elected by room to be the tax. Gatherers, yes, the tax collectors. And so they have some things that they would do according to Roman law so they would set up toll booths at certain places and as you crossed them, a certain amount of your merchandise will be taxed certain amount to travel tax. Could be imposed depending on. Whether he is in a, Roman roads are not too depending on where you're coming from, how far you went. And it was always at the

It was up to the tax collector to decide how much you owed is, he didn't have to have a 1099 form that came in and said, you know, this guy is free over here. And we got this, you know, W-2 form here that says, this is how much we're taking out of everything. And then he would take it all and put it onto the great big ole. You give us your money form and have it all documented. Like we do with the IRS and with the states that we happen to live in, rather you just said, Can you give me this much and then he would give a portion to roam and hang on to a fortune, he got to figure out how much he was keeping. So he made his money off of the taxes. So you can see, could be a pretty, crooked line to be walked. And so people did not trust these Tax Collectors for many reasons. The animosity was completely against checks. And that's what they're asking Christ here. They're setting him up to fail. Are you going to side with the tax collectors or the other option? You say don't pay the taxes in which case he's in trouble with Rome, he gets turned over to the governor and you will be executed for opposing the laws of Rome. Was he going to take the ire of the Roman Empire, or the ire of the people? They may think they have. Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not first 23, but he perceived their craftiness and said to them. Why?

Pools.

He didn't say that but that's kind of what, you know there's a couple of people on the face of the planet and all history, they're probably the most brilliant of all time. I would put Moses up there. Rained and many many lines of Education. Brilliant, brilliant in many ways. And we have a list of all the things he was accomplished that he was a military genius. He was an architectural genius. He was an economic genius. He was a linguistic genius, he was a genius and ways at the ways after ways we have Paul. Do we know about who was Play me a Jewish Family raised in a Greek city having Roman status and so we had all of the education we can say. He had a PhD from the Hebrews. A PhD from the Greeks a PhD from the Romans. He was brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant.

Then God pulled him out of his rebellion in his hatred and brought him the gospel and he responded. And he said, Who art thou O Lord, when the Lord confront him and says, why are you, why are you trying me? Why are you persecuting me? Why are you persecuting my people? And she was knocked off his off, his horse or his ride and fell to his knees. Who met points in his Rebellion. He just knew it was a lord. He says, why?

Why are you calling on me, anyways, he heard the gospel clearly freely and he was saved. Really an individual, but I would put them both up against the Lord. Jesus Christ. Perfect inhumanity, never send. You know, there is a incapacity that we have because of sin, just because we have a history of sin, just because we have a tendency to do the sinful thing. Thank the wrong way through, do things that are for our benefit instead of four others. We are handicapped by sin but the Lord Jesus Christ was not So whether or not he had the amazing IQ of a mosasaur of a Saul of Tarsus who became Paul, I would say that because of his lack of semi had a used to think and work his way through things that is unparalleled in all of human history. The only other person to have had that was Adam and Eve for him and look what happened to them. So, brilliant and there are those who would postulate just from his teaching and so forth that he was equally. Brilliant team. Do the word of God inside and out from end-to-end every jot and Tittle he relied upon, he fought his way through. I'm a believer that those who study the word of God especially you take your kids to take your teenagers if you have them study the word of God that will give them a Brilliance and inability in life. That is on unparalleled. The more they dig into the word of God, the more equipped they were With this. If this world moving on to verse 24, he says show me a Denarius Description. Does it have a mansard? They said Caesars.

Who got a coin in the picture on it is a picture of Caesar because this is the coin of the realm.

It's actually a technical term. That means it is the Legal tender to be used for buying and selling point of the realm has a picture of Caesar on it.

Then he replied a 2500 so do them render. Therefore and here's our word. The very, very strong word. It's not a simple there for wherefore, he wasn't all milquetoast. Guy has pictures on it, okay? To Caesars Caesars on it. No, he says, whose picture is on this coin there for any use, the strongest article that can be used here. And he is saying because of this with great Authority.

Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and also give to God the things that are God's verse 25. Sorry, I was slowing the fight. Here it is render, therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's first 26. But they could not catch him in his words in the presence of the people because they spoke a question for the people and he spoke a response for the people and they marveled at his answer and they kept silent. The fact they couldn't ask him any more questions from here on out. We have a little accounts here. Pretty interesting. Jesus got them. So tied up that they wouldn't talk to him in public anymore because it was bad for them. So, we see that Jesus uses this intense of article in verse 25, to amplify his conclusion, that only did Jesus answer their trick question, but do you also turn the tables on the chief priest who had posed this and sending their spies to ask the question. Forever marked? Troubled, then all their prize money, which they work to have, and they work so hard to get in the temple, had the emblem of Ceaser on it.

I'm the ruler of the coin of the realm was Caesar. We rise. The ruler of the people is gone. The chief priest wanted to keep their coin and rule over the people, and Christ wants them to give their coin to Caesar and the people to God. Do you have permissions have Twisted? This is they want the coin with Caesar's name on it and they are known for getting the coin, but they say they do it in Devotion to go. Is what the chief priest said, and Devotion to God, we render, we taking all this coin and we charged you because your sheets not good enough. So we've got this perfectly fitted sheet for sacrificed, if it's only going to cost you ten times as much as the value. If you go two miles outside of Jerusalem but we need to charge you this amount because it is a Sanctified sheep and we have prayed over it and we blessed it and we watched it from the Far. We've been thinking about that sheet there for ten times the value and they would play these mind games with the people to try to show how righteous they were. When really, they're grabbing coin, is what they're up to and Jesus just turned the tables on them like you would do when he goes to cleanse the temple. Once at the beginning of his ministry, once at the end of his ministry, turning the tables tossing, the coin to the ground. Driving out all the Sheep, all of this false money making processes because he's telling them, but they have turned his father's house into a den of robbery, a den of iniquity. So, here he is. He's at it again. They think they have him. They think they're going to get him either Stone by the people or killed by the governor. That question is this important? Can you imagine all the thinking they had to do to come up with this question? We see it today. We see it in our presidential elections. We see all the work that went into with a few lies here and they're going to say this and put this information in front of the FBI or the CIA. And then you find that a couple of liars, real will it create a giant Witch Hunt but almost derails, an entire presidency. Crazy what a few wise a little bit of think tanking and the wicked manipulative work can accomplish. That's what we have happening right here. They're trying to derail Christ. What Christ has no guile. He has no blinders of sin over him. He has no need to try to save self. He just looked straight into the situation and he says whose face is on this coin.

Therefore, with great emphasis based on the reality of where this coin came from. I say this to you. Map to Mark, go to the person who marked it. If a coin Bears, the image of Caesar than Let It Go to Caesar.

The chief priest screaming.

All the same. Yeah. These are the leaders of Israel. These are the chief priests, this is the Sanhedrin who is doing this. They're the ones who were pulling the strings, who sent these lawyers, these days with the Sanhedrin. So that's who the chief priests are. And so they were sent in to try to derail price mystery to. It says, take this witch has on its face print it into the coin as the face of Cesar, then Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's who with that, we have the corollary, then Render unto God, that which is God's, because every person has on them, the imprint of God, the two things, but the chief priests one and accumulate money and rule over the people. Jesus Christ in an instant over through, to all the people would recognize it Render unto Caesar that, which is Caesar's how they going to react, then, to the money of the chief priests, you need to render it unto Caesar, send the tax collectors into the chief priests

We don't know what the actual out working was. There are maybe some commentary out there. I haven't encountered it personally right on Truluck recollect, anything. But the infatic Intensive article here is very important. This is a big argument. And so he pulls out this expression in the English does not capture the power and authority, that is in the creek here. For this very reason, therefore he stated with authority, and it's irrefutable logic. Now, we linked our strong reason for this. Very reason back to Hebrews chapter 10 verse 39 previously and we learned that we are not to be those who shrink back but to be those who pressed forward It is an interesting turn of phrase or wording in the Greek. Hebrews chapter 10 verse 39. I don't believe I have a slide for it so you can turn their Hebrews 10 verse 39.

it's interesting because back in verse 38,

we read now, the just shall live by faith, but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him first 39, but we are not of those who draw back to Perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the Soul, This is an interesting turn of phrase or wording in the Greek because I'm verse 38, the just shall live by faith is compared in verse 39. Where we are of those who are of the faith. And in both cases Who got show live by faith?

Converse 39 by faith, we understand that the world has me that word believe is actually our word faith. Exact same word, using verse 39 as it is as used for Faith. Back in verse 38. The word pistus here is used and it's are now that we see all the way through, Hebrews chapter 11, by Theory, my faith by Thing by Faith. No. The simple understanding is it's by believing, By relying upon. But as we work through it multiple times, we find that the essence here is believing in something because there is always an object in Fay. So it's that which is believed that is important. Because in the gospel, it's Believing on the work of Jesus Christ. When he died and paid for the sins of mankind on the cross. And you believe that for yourself personally that's how you get safe, right? So we have an object, is the Lord Jesus Christ and we believe for ourselves that he is a source of salvation.

so to this is dealing with belief in the Bible doctrine that the Lord is placed in the soil of The Believer by

Those who have this Reliance on Bible Doctrine. Or involved in the saving of the storm. Again, that's the idea of prosperity of blessing of life. We're talking about functioning Bible Doctrine in our soul. So 12:1 is going all the way back to 10:39 is saying this faith is what we're talkin about. who's there for, for making a Strong connection to this idea. If we cannot shrink from Bible Doctrine functioning and our souls, but we must press forward into it. It takes courage to choose to use Doctrine and yet it brings prosperity to our soul, to our spiritual life, to our entire life. It is what we are called to do. Trust God, word. When we shrink away from trusting, we always miss out. We lose out in blessing when we press forward and Trust, then we find ourselves in Courage and ministered to and part of God's plan.

So, we must for a parallel subject matter in Romans. Chapter 5.

Pepsi here.

Romans chapter 5 last week and we learned that even has the Opry Ori worth of Adam and in death were in place. Ruling in tyranny over mankind, but God brought the off fortiori work of Christ. Its righteousness and of justification and the freedom of spiritual life by Grace. So we were looking at some arguments and chapter 5 when we had a bunch of oper your arguments, hey, this is true there for, this is true of there for the mixed in with it, we had some off for Tori argument if the greater has been done and how much more than how much more we had four of those, how much more is that we looked at?

done with all that, we're caught up to her current place and Sometimes teaching is about repeating and summarizing and going back over what was done before. So that's what we did with the bulk of today. So we are at the scene that we also

Witches in the King James version. Seeing we also so our first part of 12:1 is for this very reason, we also Or see you in. We also, if you're looking at the King James and here we have the was called the adjunct to the views of the conjunction, by which means also

So you're used to seeing, how I typically we say caught we see Kai k. A i and it just means and and but it's a connecting, it's a connective and it doesn't always mean and sometimes has it other purpose and roll in here. It means something is being added to this beautiful. When I called Road of Grace, the road of functioning Bible, doctrine of the believer, something more is being added to this pistus, but is being referred to here. so, the next few words here in the Greek,

Or emphatic as well. And there are three words. We have the the Wii Should translate as we?

Also. And then we don't have any English word for it. So we just put in there and 4 in parentheses emphasize, we also Eggo Echo. Is what's there in the Greek? Hey girl, by Echo.

the word, we Or Angel is a nominative, plural of the personal pronoun ego. that means you're my first person we say me, or I and in the second person you would say you or they remove the third person we have us or we

or we call it a first-person plural. So this is a first-person plural which means we or us. And this particular use of a Lego is called an ageless a go. Another words, what is inclusive? It's not just who he was talking about then and includes us refers to each and every new generation of the royal family of God. Every time new Believers come along, they become part of that expanded us.

Yugioh.

So when it refers to us right now, just the same way it referred to those reversion Mystic Believers that the writer of Hebrews was writing this book 2

In Jerusalem in 67 a.d. When the book was written. so, we also Here is our translation and it's very important in a refers to the positive believer on the road to maturity or super Grace. And I

But we also is very important refers to the positive believer. The person who is pressing on who's engaging with Bible Doctrine, is on the road to maturity or super great, and it's not referring to those who shrink back, but the one who is seizing and holding The High Ground refers, therefore to the one who is dedicated to what we call the colors. Or following the lead of the flag colors of just a euphemism for the flag.

so, those who were following the lead of the flagger following visible reference, Obey military campaign and the orders to go that direction and take that hill and the person with the colors leads the charge. So you follow where the flag goes, that's the concept.

Who were following the lead of the flag, following the visible reference of our campaign of our orders of that relatable aspect of Christian Living. The we borrow from military Behavior. As a result, we have functioning Bible Doctrine in the soul and are facing every disaster in life. With Bible Doctrine in the soul or becoming spiritually self-sustaining, but is growing up mature able to Think Through issues on the go because of Bible Doctrine in the Soul Rebel. The face every disaster in life. Make the decisions on the basis of interactive functioning Bible Doctrine. That's what we mean. That's what we mean by follow the colors. Are you able to engage to think to live to process to move forward? As we are utilizing Bible Doctrine in the process.

So here we might write out an expanded translation of what we have so far.

for this very reason they're for, We too also. For this very reason they're for we2 also plus reference back to Hebrews. Ten thirty nine. Those people are following. The colors are not shrinking back. There were engaging there for we too. Also, we're not shrinking back, but we're engaging, we're activating a pursuit of the colors of Bible Doctrine, relying on the teaching, and thinking we are compassed about No, we are compassed about with is mistranslated. And the reason is that we have two participles here.

The first of these is a present active participles of echo e, c h, o.

Do I have to tell you? I ran into a little problem last night with my slide putting together software and it got worse and worse. Since I was up until 3 in the morning, trying to get this all worked out. I'm going to pop back up as soon as I could taking a couple hours nap when I was back up at 5:30 or so. And again, working on this and the tech support was not available because they're not open on a Sunday morning, even though their entire business is about supporting pastors on Sundays. They take it off. So you know, if you're a pastor you're on your own will give you the you know, call it's between 9:00 to 5 but not right before you need to actually get up and preach and teach. So I have some thoughts. I might relate to them.

so, we are compassed about

Which is mistranslated. The reason is the two-part is participles. We have here. The first is echo which means to have or to have and to hold it's simply not found in the English but then neither is the second participle. We don't have corresponding words for this, the present tense of Acura is what we call a static present for a condition, for a situation that is perpetually existing. We will always have that roster of super Grace Old Testament, believers. That is referenced herein Romans is to be in Hebrews 12:1. They are there, they are in God's mine forever. They will be thought about their part of what's being talked about here.

They're going to receive their surpassing Grace benefits in the future as we just read previously in Hebrews chapter 11, the last two verses there, it's all about how they're going to receive their rewards right after All the royal family of God gets to Heaven before them gets in mind. First receives their Wars and then they get to have their reward. So you get your reward before David does before Moses does before any noteworthy person in the Old Testament does royalty has its privileges. We are actually part of the family of Jesus Christ. We are royalty.

In an unprecedented way and they're waiting for us to get rudine raptured out of here. Don't let the party can start.

so you've been dead for a 200 years, what you been up to how, you know I just been kicking it around here and Heaven you know enjoying everything really like my Mansion kind of into it really like the extra 9 on the backside of the golf course and I have there been thinking about I've been wondering When is it going to wrap sure? Then I'm just, I'm tired of waiting. You know, we don't get our real rewards until after they've all been raptured in the royal family has to be processed first and once they are, then we can have our thing.

I'm not saying that those conversations like that. Going on in heaven. I'm just giving you an illustration that they're waiting for us. Nothing is happening until we get there. Everything Is On. Hold by going to the DMV.

Heaven is the Big D M V in the sky for Old Testament. Believers waiting for all those. What's your ticket number?

That's our situation.

So, the active voice refers to the fact that also the royal family is producing the action of the verb here and possessing its own distinct roster of individuals. We're going to proceed those people referencing in the glass, couple of verses of verse 11. We have a reminder here, but even though they are last in line, they will receive their reward in the Eternal scheme and then he's making a reference to them as this great cloud of witnesses. Now, the super Grace heroes in Hebrews chapter 11, or to be taken as a source of encouragement, to all of us. That is what God the Holy Spirit. When he picked a variety of individuals to be represented, their, you probably didn't realize it. When we studied through Hebrews chapter 11, that there is a phenomenal diversification of types of people. Variety of, super Grace blessings that are emphasized across each of those individuals who this was all to encourage each one of us. That was the design. Hebrews chapter 11 was written with this purpose. In mind that you would be encouraged as they clung to Bible Doctrine in their soul. And saw all the resulting hand of God and it is the basis of all Blessings In Time and Eternity. You are to be encouraged as well. By clinging to this same word of God. Bible Doctrine in your soul that you might experience blessings and time and multiplied blessings and Eternity. That's what this whole passage has been about. It's to encourage it now, we are different. We have a different emphasis within our time here on Earth after salvation pursuing the life of maturity Prosperity, abundance or the super Grace life, which you can have regardless of, whether you're feeling Financial abundance or situational abundance, economic abundance, stress-free, abundance and living.

Regardless.

Whether you know it or not, you are living in abundance. There's an abundance of Grace available for every situation, every Nuance of every situation that you are in right now, but you will be, but your family will be that your extended family, that all the people around, you have face. but whatever, our emphasis is, It is our very own.

There isn't anything that can expel this process in time there for this. Therefore for this reason, utilizing our military illustration of following the colors. There must be a three-paragraph feels order that we have here to get there in the first paragraph. Then is the military authorization to advance that we see in verse 1. The military authorization to advance.

Have to scroll.

Bruce one. Therefore, we also since we are surrounded by so great. A cloud of witnesses. Let us lay aside every weight, some assume with silly easily and snares us and let us Advance. It says, well, it says run with endurance the race that is set before us. But this is the call to admit. The movie of the second paragraph for a second set of objectives. Once you've accomplished objective one then you roll into objective to the object of the which we have in verse 2.

Brewstew says. Looking unto Jesus, the author, and the finisher of our faith for the joy, that was set before him and Drew the cross. Despising, the shame. And I sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God,

This is the object of your military Advanced as you press forward in the Christian Life and the spiritual life, here is your goal. Here is your objective. Focus on the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Learn about the person of the Lord, Jesus Christ, celebrate the Lord, Jesus Christ, one word. What the Celebrity ship of the Lord. Jesus Christ is all about and we are going to expose it through that second verse. And so we will be digging into these things would understand that. This is what it is. I'm summarizing it first one Advanced charge forward Verse to your objective in the advance is to focus on Jesus Christ. And then we have our third paragraph of orders. Striking Us and how to deal with enemy forces. And strangely, some may say, the enemy forces are believers. Reversion is stick believers. Where are the enemy of Christ? The enemy of the Cross and they are the enemy of every believer. Reading verse, 34, consider hunam, who enjoy such hostility from Sinners against himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. we are to consider Jesus Christ, but understanding that the hostility that comes from those opposed to us, but the world But Sinners Christian Sinners reversion Asar opposed to us and how do we deal with this? why considering him who endured

Endured everything throwing against him and so we are going to follow his model. How did he enjoy, by the way? Everything we've been studying and teaching pistus that is through functioning Bible Doctrine. And his soul, complete Reliance on God's Viewpoint of what's going on and happening and relying on the empowering Ministry of God, the Holy Spirit. You never once took it upon himself to solve, it is on way I can do that. Mess smell. Suddenly, I took my way.

But Jesus Christ never did that ever. every single Choice, every single opportunity, he chose to think from God's perspective, To walk in the plan that he was called to walk in. And to rely on God, the holy spirit for everything. Wow, we get to do that.

Hebrews 12 verse one reads. Therefore we also said we are surrounded by so great. A cloud of witnesses.

and what we come up to, it is a participle, which is a concessive participle, translated, since since we keep having And the second participle is closely related to the word encompassed. I'm going to summarize this and then we'll come back and we'll read it. This next week when we come back together, Who actually means Encompass in the sense of surrounding. Now we have a present middle participle of the word para que MI.

Which means to surround in the sense of support. When you have the support of your family, they surround you. When you're going through something difficult in the people who care about you. So around you, that is the sense. We are surrounded by the support of these Old Testament. Believers. So that's what it's about. It's a surrounding of support. Now Porreca my Is broken out. Its two Greek words Perry Perry, which means around Perry we get parameter parameter the measure around perimeter that comes from that word in the week at Kmart. I k e. I m a i and hopefully I'll be back to Floyd's again next week Kmart, which means to support social support from all around in, the present tense is used. And again, it will be present for the idea that the complete roster. All these Old Testament, super Grace. He arose from are forming a permanent support and encouragement for the Royal Family. Poor, how do they do that? You say they're all up in heaven. I'm not going a whole lot of support from heaven right now.

Well every person who ever went before, I seen the Old Testament, who made super Grace is a support for us to protect us in our Advanced to encourage us. You see they have gone before they have made the road. They have followed the colors. They know the way to the high ground and they have established. It said it portrayed. It been there to be the picture of it. They are exemplified in the Old Testament that we understand that's how they surround us. One of the greatest things about studying the Bible characters of the Old Testament is that they are a basis of encouraging us to move forward to follow the colors to do what they did. Not only do these people glorify God, by their own personal advanced in the day, in which they live, but they do more than that, they act, as an encouragement to us. So we are surrounded or supported. That is the present middle participle. Middle voice is a direct middle, which the agent that is. We the royal family participates in the results of the action advancing to The High Ground under the cover of combat support unit. That is These Old Testament, believers. They give us cover because we read what they done. Therefore we emulate what they've done cuz I know it is in real life. When you're in combat, someone leaves the charge they moved through, Stop or go. It may lead you through it and you go through single file or go through as a cluster where you go through as a line What someone is leading you forward, someone who sees the train knows the terrain was making decisions to move forward in the terrain of that. That's what our Old Testament, believer are they led the way they led the charge, we saw their mistakes, we saw their errors. They found the landmines for us. We don't have to go to the same way. Following the same land, mines that they did. We are free to not do that. They were free to follow their example and be encouraged because of the faithfulness of God that was demonstrated in their lives will be demonstrated in our lives as well.

In other words, the royal family of the church age is supported in their Advanced to The High Ground by past victories, recorded in the word of God. So, this participle that used here is circumstantial as you are engaged in the forward, battle following the colors forward. So too, did they and you are in the same circumstance? Real red, great crowd of support for us. Do we all need? Do you ever think you're in it all by yourself?

We feel that way sometimes. No one has come this way. Before at least no one that I know. There's no one I can talk to sometimes. You just feel like you need to talk to someone.

But here is a distinction, we should be aware of, we have a great cloud. Of supporters who are there for us. Do you feel alone? Rob the Old Testament and read through what these characters went through. Read through the Book of Judges.

Read through 1st and 2nd, Samuel read the prayer of Hannah, expressing, the prophetic insight into what is about to happen. It is a masterful masterful prayer, Insight read it. Think about the song Deborah, as they passed over through the, through the Red Sea.

Is everyone still there? When they said our God just sitting to us, he just collapsed the entire red. Cee on the army of Moses.

Do a tambourine was grabbed and they started singing. I will sing unto the Lord. Free Australian Floria sweetie, The Horse and Rider fell into the sea. Let me just started singing and praising. The Lord Jehovah has saved us. what a wonderful response, beautiful Doctrine, think through that, grab it and be encouraged, you are not alone, have you gone through a literal Red, Sea stretched above you on both sides with Pharaoh's Army charging in after, you know, They have to look at their reaction, watch it.

We have much to be encouraged by and we are not alone. That is the whole point.

We are surrounded. We are circumscribed by a great mass of believers who found the mature road, the road to maturity. They ended up being cited, a super great believers, they reach that they caught the colors and they hung on even some we didn't think made it like some people may not think you made it but you know what? Samson's in there is violence his life was as many decisions as he made one after another, after another after another after another and finally he makes one good decision and dies. And yet he is listed in there. He is a super Grace hero. There's more to the story, I think. We need wisdom that comes from relating, to people, who've been through situations, the we haven't been through, we think no one's been through my situation. Well, you haven't been through their situation so there be encouraged by people who've been through more than you have. Been in more than you have gone through.

the best reason, therefore, since we to also keep having support surrounding us Is what are taxes going to end up saying for this reason? Therefore since Keep calm and support.

Between the two participles keep having and surrounding. There's something in Greek that's in between and we'll get to that next week. Will grab that and start working that out but I wanted you to have it. The end, this concept, this idea, I know, we go through technical stuff here. I know that I hurt your brain sometimes and I don't apologize cuz I never got to be a brain surgeon. And now I get to

but,

Be encouraged. The Lord has equipped you with everything. You need to be successful. But you're not going to be successful living in your own head, thinking your room, Faust's ignoring the empowerment in the grace of the provision that God has made you more successful as you rely on his grace. Look at those who have come before I give that to you as your challenge this week. Go out, find look at, pay attention to those who have gone before those who are there for your encouragement.

Closing prayer. Our Father. We approached you. With me, we approach you with joy and finding the solution.

Our Lord, Jesus Christ is a solution. He has gone before. He accomplished what we need to accomplish. He relied on the great cloud of witnesses that went before You looked at their faithfulness at their growth, at their maturity based on walking. In Bible Doctrine. Functioning in Reliance upon that Doctrine upon your character. We pray that we might to be able to do the same. You pray, you would encourage us some Chillin Justin this week pray that you would Minister to those in our congregation and all who have been part of our congregation. Give us the means to reach out and minister To those who may be in, need pray, that you would give us the Divine appointments. We never could have anticipated or expected, but you have that way of doing it. So we ask you to do that. Give us opportunity to encourage to counsel to evangelize to share and witnessed your word. We Delight in seeing people or turn to you. So we pray that we might Rejoice more and more give us individuals to come into the congregation to be safe. We would love to see that, but most importantly allow us to continue to study our word that we might be the people of God. And I we might be those who are following your encouragement. These things we pray in Christ Jesus name.
